NOV
2007,
Nassau, Bahamas:
Bahamas Electricity Corporation (BEC) retained EIC to implement a
remedial program at the Clifton Pier Power Station in Nassau, Bahamas.
BEC had discovered presence of non-aqeuous phase liquids (NAPL) in the
subsurface at various locations beneath the power station. The
subsurface is composed of a unique oolitic limestone formation that is
tidally influenced from the nearby ocean. Overcoming
the effects of water-table fluctuations, EIC successfully installed
its unique non-aqueous phase liquid extraction technique (NET) based
remedial systems. Field measurements indicated that the NET
systems are recovering NAPL with oil-water ratios greater than 90%.
The source(s) of the NAPL release(s) are currently under review.
