2006, Grand Rapids, MN: Enbridge Pipelines, L.L.C.
retained EIC to evaluate liquid phase hydrocarbon (LPH) recovery
potential from the subsurface at a site in Grand Rapids,
Minnesota. Enbridge Pipelines is owned and operated by
Enbridge Energy Partners, L.P. of Houston, Texas. EIC will
utilize its patented non-aqueous extraction technique (NETTM)
to conduct recovery-recharge tests in five monitoring wells.
Based on the results of the tests, EIC will determine if LPH
recovery is sustainable. If recovery is sustainable,
Enbridge Pipelines will have the option of utilizing the NETTM
systems for recovery of LPH at 99% oil-water ratios. This
technique ensures that the Enbridge can reach remedial end
points rapidly and at a fraction of the cost normally expended
with conventional remediation technologies such as pumping
systems, vapor extraction, and multiphase extractions systems. |
