MAY 2005, DUBAI, UAE: Dubai Municipality (DM) retained EIC to conduct a municipal solid waste landfill reclamation study at the Al Ghusais Landfill in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).  DM's Horticulture Department is interested in reclaiming a portion of the site for locating a nursery.  EIC's scope of work entails an evaluation of the subsurface conditions, sampling of multimedia including soil, waste, groundwater, leachate, or gas  at the several locations, laboratory analysis of select samples, and preparation of a report documenting the results of the study.  Based on the results of the study, EIC will evaluate the feasibility of locating the nursery from an environmental and safety perspective.  If the site is found feasible for further development, EIC will prepare an environmental strategy to develop the site as a nursery for the Horticulture Department.
