For the sixth consecutive year, a global pharmaceutical firm has
retained EIC for technical support services at various manufacturing
facilities in New Jersey. Since 2000, EIC has prepared permit
applications and successfully obtained wastewater discharge permits
for various facilities owned and operated by the pharmaceutical firm.
In complying with the permit conditions, EIC prepared spill prevention
control and countermeasures (SPCC) plans and standard operating
procedure (SOP) manuals. EIC also initiated monthly monitoring of the
wastewater discharged to the sanitary sewer to ensure compliance with
permitted flow. Subsequently, the pharmaceutical firm retained EIC to
also conduct monthly permit compliance monitoring. EIC was also
successful in obtaining air permits for various locations utilizing
computer programs such as RADIUS in preparing the air permit
application. RADIUS was developed by the New Jersey Department of
Environmental Protection to streamline permit applications and for
completing yearly Emission Statements. EIC also prepared
storm-water permits and provided on-call support on various
environmental and plant expansion issues under its environmental
process outsourcing (EPO) program.
