A pharmaceutical firm in New Jersey, USA has retained EIC for technical support services in air and wastewater compliance programs. In 2000, EIC prepared permit applications and successfully obtained a wastewater discharge permit. In complying with the permit conditions, EIC prepared a spill prevention control and countermeasures plan and a standard operating procedure manual. EIC is also conducting monthly monitoring of the wastewater discharged to the sanitary sewer to ensure compliance with permitted flow. Based on the quality of service provided, the pharmaceutical firm contracted EIC to also conduct permit compliance monitoring for year 2001. In addition, EIC is assisting the firm in preparing applications forms for obtaining an operating air permit. The application process involves an inventory of all equipment utilized in the manufacturing processes and the control devices associated with the emission control processes. EIC is currently in the process of preparing a preliminary submittal utilizing RADIUS computer data entry module. This system was developed by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection to assist the regulated community in preparing and submitting permit applications and for completing yearly Emission Statements.
