OCTOBER 2008, ILLINOIS, USA:  Marathon Oil Corporation (Marathon) retained EIC to perform recovery potential tests to evaluate the feasibility of recovering non-aqueous phase liquid (NAPL) at a former terminal and warehousing facility in the Chicago metro area.  Although Marathon had implemented various remedial measures, including pumping systems and excavation of NAPL-saturated soil, NAPL continues to persist at this site. EIC will utilize its unique non-aqueous extraction technique (NET^TM)-based system to perform recovery recharge tests to determine the NAPL recovery potential from selected wells.  In particular, the tests will determine if NAPL recovery is sustainable...............
